Fashion Week Recap & Wind Down

Fashion Week Recap & Wind Down

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week is over. Sadly enough but at the same time I am sure many people can take a deep breath knowing that they did a wonderful job. This year was my first time at New York Fashion Week and I honestly had a blast. Although, it was very busy and exciting, I am finally back in Michigan, at work feeling like I am in a completely different world moving in slow motion.

I had the opportunity to cover some shows for Detroit Fashion Pages 1. Arriving in New York on Saturday, I met up with my cousin and we went to pick up my credentials. All I knew was Bryant Park. As we are walking in Time Square standing near ABC studios I looked right and saw the tent. I was so excited and amazed at all the gawkers, photographers and yep I saw a couple of girls crying and saying OMG one day I will make it in there…

That night I met up with another cousin and we attended the Twinkle by Wenlan show. Check out my review   of hair and makeup on Detroit Fashion Pages. Later that night I checked out the Bowery Poetry Club 3where they were having a fundraiser for Haiti.

TWINKLE FW10 NEW YORK 02/13/2010

Sunday more fashion shows and fun and many surprises. Some of the many celebrities that I spotted, and had a chance to speak to a couple were Jessica Care Moore, Veronica Webb, Kelly Roland,  Miss J. Alexander, Tracey Ferguson EIC of Jones Magazine 1, L.Londell McMillan, Vanessa Simmons and Mr. Joe Zee of Elle Magazine  .

My last day in New York, I went to Good Morning America, stood in the studio audience and took a picture with Robin Roberts and George Stephanopoulos. I will say I had a blast, the weekend was busy but worth every ounce of soreness, feet tingling and lack of sleep. I am paying for it now, but it was all so worth it.

Now that fashion week is over and we are reflecting and relaxing, here are some great ways to get your R&R on as you reflect on the amazing, stressful, busy and memorable time you had at fashion week.  If you didn’t go, these items will still help you relax. Who doesn’t love a little relaxation?
